Co-Hosted by:
North Texas SHRM and
Denton Economic Development Partnership
Topic For Discussion:
Mental Health in the Workplace
Presented by: Carolyn Kedslie

NAMI of North Texas will present on how employers can empower employees to take care of their mental health through their sphere of control. We will also discuss positive actions HR Professionals can take to maintain their own mental health.
Sphere of Control:
-What can you actually control?
-What can you not control but you can influence?
-What is outside your control entirely (doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect you)?
Support System and Boundaries
-What areas of life do you have? (work, family, romantic relationship, friends, school, hobbies, finances, etc)
-How can you make those areas more impactful by separating/prioritizing them?
-Set boundaries with people and areas of life to protect yourself from being overwhelmed and burnt out.
Healthy Habits and SMART goals for yourself
-What is a behavior (something you actually control)?
-“I will do (what) for (how much) (when).” Exercise
