Community Relations Director

Function:

Serve as an appointed member of the chapter board of directors. Monitor and evaluate on a continuing basis local activities concerning community relations. Spearhead the effort to support community efforts and to publicize successful programs in the local community.

Responsible To:

• The members of the chapter
• The chapter vice president of membership
• The chapter president

Responsibilities:

• Recommend community service projects to be supported by the chapter.
• Provide opportunities for chapter members to volunteer or donate to local non-profit agencies while building awareness of and promoting the chapter.
• Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic planning for the chapter.
• Represent the chapter in the human resources community.

Requirements:

• Must be a North Texas SHRM Chapter member in good standing
• Must attend at least four board meetings
• Attend at least 50% of chapter meetings and events

• Free membership to NTXSHRM
• Free admittance to all NTXSHRM luncheons and networking events
• Admittance to the NTXSHRM Annual Conference will be at the lowest rate possible for the entire registration period up to the date when late registration is required.
• $25 admittance to the NTXSHRM Legal Symposium up to the date when late registration is required.
• May bring a guest at no charge to the monthly luncheons or networking events
• 10% discount off the National SHRM Conference
