Out of a Rut in 4 Steps

12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Speaker Presentation

    Presented by Nino Fincher

There are 4 principles that have served me and my clients consistently in getting out of any rut that affects productivity, personal development, and creative process. Understanding them has proven to be an effective tool in moving out of a defeated mental state into success.

Nino is an internal RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy) expert on anxiety and PTS. She splits her time mainly between Dubai and Dallas and helps individuals and teams through RTT and coaching and speaking. Her client list includes, diplomats, artists, veterans, physicians, students and other therapists. By integrating her extensive background in fitness, mental health and theology she helps transform each client holistically through her "Complete You" program by getting to the exact root of each hindrance: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual and helping clients get clarity on their purpose and strategy for success comprehensively.

12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Speaker Presentation

      Presented by Ashley Smalley

Unity on a team is crucial if a team is going to reach its goals and enjoy its work. Unity starts with how we use the incredible influence we have on those around us. This message dives deep into practical ways to use that influence to unite rather than divide. It includes things like:

      • Using patience and humility with teammates
      • Working to be a complement rather than a competitor
      • Addressing conflict in a way that makes the team stronger
      • And so much more!

      Participants will learn how to:

      1. Recognize the need for team unity in order to perform effectively and achieve organizational objectives.

      2. Recognize the need for unity in order to improve workplace culture and enjoy working with their teammates.

      3. Positively impact relationships with their own personal influence using specific strategies.

Ashley Smalley is the Founder of Smalley Consulting, a Human Resources consulting firm focused on building unity one team at a time. She is a certified human resources professional, a trusted consultant, and an adept facilitator in the workplace learning and development space.

Ashley is a keynote speaker, lover of people, and novice drummer. She has graced national platforms for businesses, service organizations, faith-based and educational institutions, equipping them with the essential skills they need to build stronger teams.

Broadening Security Concerns in Today's Workplace

12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Speaker Presentation

      Presented by Jeff McKissack

Physical, data and reputational risks will be the three main topics of this presentation as we look at those dynamics that can put people in the emergency room and their employers in either the courtroom and/or the newsroom. Often today, what happens in the ER affects HR just as what happens in the PD can affect PR.

What are the hot buttons related to these three main areas, what are strategies that can help those in HR mitigate such risks, and what are the suggested practices related to documentation of the same to avoid potential claims of negligence against you or your company? These all will be addressed as we all seek to proactively create more safe and secure workplaces today for us, our people, and our patrons.

      Jeff McKissack

Jeff McKissack is a noted authority on risk and reputation management having addressed these topics over the past 35 years and to over 350,000 in live audiences, millions more via radio and television interviews.

Jeff regularly speaks at conferences and conventions, offers onsite employee training programs, and also conducts continuing education events to a myriad of industries and professions including those in human resources management, risk management, medical, legal, financial, education, real estate, insurance and event management. He has spoken to Dallas HR, Ft. Worth HR, Mid-cities HR, Texoma HR, San Antonio HR and HR Southwest, so well familiar with our profession and its challenges.

But when asked, Jeff best sums up his message and mission by saying, "my goal is to help you spot trouble 'before' trouble spots you," and in today's world, that is a message beneficial to us all, both personally and professionally.

      Lessons from the Wild

12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Speaker Presentation

      Presented by Beverly Parker

I am a member of the Appalachian Trail Class of 2020. One of my favorite presentations, “Lessons from the Wild” draws on the valuable life lessons I learned on the trail and applies them to my workplace experiences.

A few of the learning objectives of my presentation included ways to utilize expectations of a goal, recovering from disappointment, and keys to maximize endurance, accomplishment, and continuous growth. These themes of disappointment, endurance, and revival were crucial to completing my hike down the Appalachian Trail, and have forever impacted the way I approach my career and life in general.

      Beverly Parker

More than 15 years of experience recruiting potential candidates in the fields of Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources has taught me how to identify high-quality talent. My experience paired with my passion for matching the right candidates with top employers has led me to work and volunteer with many great organizations, including Fort Worth HR, Midcities HR, Financial Additions, HR Additions, DallasHR, and my current employer, Ideal Partners.

I’m passionate about bolstering a strong sense of community, especially within the DFW metroplex. Besides my love of networking and expanding my professional community, I take pride in volunteering for Blue Zones, an organization dedicated to improving the Fort Worth community as a whole.

I strive to lead by example and inspire others to reach their fullest potential. I believe servant leadership is the most impactful form of leadership; I endeavor to act with grace, humility, and kindness. It is this commitment that compels me to bring my best self to every situation, both in and out of the workplace.
